Master of Educational Technology (MET)

My Master’s studies in Educational Technology (MET) at the University of British Columbia (UBC) has elevated by teaching practice and fueled my passion for new media literacies, multimodal learning, curriculum development, and computational thinking as it relates to reading, writing, and digital competencies. ePortfolios are powerful tools to align curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment as a vehicle to enhance learning and metacognition as a means for growth.

MET Program Goals

  • To research and examine hybrid, blended, and online approaches to learning and practice effective, accessible, and inclusive instructional design methods in these areas.
  • To explore and articulate the potential impact of digitally enhanced communication methods and how they impact competencies and community-building in secondary school education.
  • To research new media literacies, online culture, and examine innovations in multiliteracy development strategies for secondary school learners.

ePortfolios aim at fostering reflection on previous learning and practice experiences, and leading to applied learning and continuous development in a cyclic manner.
